Norma, an 86 year old woman who is legally blind and has Alzheimer’s disease, has been visiting the Catholic Charities offices in Hernando County to participate in the respite care program for six months. The program offers specially planned days for people with early stage Alzheimer’s disease and other memory loss illnesses and gives caregivers short-term, dependable relief from their day-to-day responsibilities.
